On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will take place throughout the province of Leon.

The map above (made by Xavier Jubier) indicates from which areas of the Iberian Peninsula you can observe the total eclipse (shaded area between the red lines). West of the yellow line, all the phases of the event can be seen; between yellow and green lines, the end of the partial eclipse cannot be seen because the sun will have set earlier.
The schedule for the city of Leon:
Phase | Time | Sun altitude |
---|---|---|
Partial eclipse start | 19:32 | 19 º 59 ‘ |
Total eclipse start | 20:28 | 09 º 52 ‘ |
Total eclipse end | 20:30 | 09 º 33 ‘ |
Partial eclipse end | 21:22 | 00 º 41 ‘ |
